While we are on the topic of "something you probably never wanted to
know", here is something that i, uhm, do have a reason to know, and that is
whether there exists a Japanese term with some currency for what Germans
call a "Bierschiss" - the kind of particularly vile smelling fart (usually
in the morning) that seems to be directly related to the consumption of
copious amounts of beer (usually the night before), and for which i don't
even remember a suitable English term right now (OTOH, considering cultural
differences and all that, it would probably suffice to import the term into
English as it is, like "Weltanschauung" or "Gestalt", and leave the finer
points to those who need to know).

In any case, i trust that some yakkers will know the matter well enough to
be able to point me in the direction of the wanted Japanese term.

TIA and regards: Hendrik

Perhaps the particular smell is more frequently felt in Germany, not in
Japan, so that we don't have such an expression in Japan. Bier has been
produced in Japan since late 19th century. Perhaps you can find in Chinese
as China is the world's largest beer consumption country.

Hm... that probably depends on who we are talking to... among my
acquaintances there are people who do manzai and rakugo, i think i will ask
those word artists next...

I'll follow that hint and do some research...
