I use 'Japanese' for 和英 and 漢字源 for 漢和. Both are available on the US store.

Not sure if it's available for iPhone, but there's certainly a WWWJDIC app for Android - would have thought it would be available for iPhone too, since developers seem to develop for iPhone first.

Can people recommend from either the US or the Japan app stores any good 和英, 英和 and/or 漢和 dictionaries?
I've also used Kotoba (now imiwa, https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/imiwa-japanese-dictionary/id288499125?mt=8) and Japanese (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/japanese/id290664053?mt=8), and while I found them to be acceptable, I prefer the definitions and handwriting recognition in Midori.

I have a 16gb iPhone, running imiwa (Formerly kotoba. Formerly $13, now free. *grumble*) with no trouble, despite the pretty hefty file size. One thing I can add to the recommendations - if you haven't already, go to Settings > General > International > Keyboard > Keyboards and add "Chinese - Simplified Handwriting" as well as "Japanese - Romaji" to make searching for Kanji you don't know easier. Although Imiwa is pretty good with searching for kanji; you can search by radical or the skip method. My other recommendation isn't for an app per se - if you set up a custom search engine on google (https://www.google.com/cse/all) with all the online dictionaries you use and then put a link to the search engine on the home page of your phone, it will take up almost no space on the phone, but will eat a little bit into your data for the month.Hope this was helpful.-Louis BravosMelbourne, Australia

..... How would one load GG5 on to a tablet? I have an iPad (probably anathema to you!). Would I have to use it as an external drive and copy the dictionary that way? If so, how would I then activate the dictionary on the iPad?

Following the above, I was able to load several of my EPWING dictionaries
on my tablet and use DroidWing to access them. But is there a way to use
the Eijiro dictionaries on an Android table offline?
