Native JPN Speakers:

This overused expression -- how would you translate it? Glosses in PDIC, e.g., don't seem to be natural JPN. . .

The problem may be that there are too many permutations, each only applicable to a particular set of conditions in given situations.

まだまだこれから。
may be a generic one, for you to season with a pinch of this and a dash of that?

But…I’m obviously not a native speaker of Japanese.

予断を許さない or a variant thereof. (is 辞さない used in that sense?)

なるほどね。is still unpredictableの線ですね。

「＿＿を辞さない」は
「＿＿をするぞ！！」という意味なので、
網にひっかかってくる例は、うろ覚えがキーボードに出てしまった例でしょう。

翻訳ではありませんが、「百里を行く者は九十里を半ばとす」(戦国策)
という言葉を連想してしまいますが、ポイントを外しているでしょうか。
あるいは、兼好法師の『徒然草』にも「高名の木登り」のエピソードも
紹介されていたりします。

At the first glance, coming to my mind was 油断大敵.

峠は超えたけど... might also work.

という訳はE-DICという電子辞典に載っていますね（以下はその解説の一
部）。

be not out of the woods
「（まだ）安心できない（状況だ），油断できない（状況だ）」。woods
は「森→困難な状態，危険な状態」を表す。《英》ではwoodとも言う。
¶ It's too early to crow. We're not out of the woods yet.
（自慢するのはまだ早い。まだ成功したとは言えないぞ）
¶ I've passed English, but I won't be out of the woods until
after the math exam on Friday.
（英語は合格したが，金曜日の数学の試験が済むまでは安心できない）

Hi,

I really like "まだまだ安心するのは、早い!" since it really captures the sense
you still need to keep your guard up and not relax just yet. The other
translations also work. Here's my two cents. 23 more and you've got a
gum ball.
