I am looking into a potential software localization project from US to Japan. This will involve some translation but will be more along the lines of building the product in Japanese.

Does someone know of a good website resource that goes through the steps that are needed to perform a successful software localization?

Thanks,

For the technical aspects of software localization (especially for Microsoft Windows),

msdn.microsoft.com/goglobal and www.i18nguy.com

may be helpful.

Hi Michael,

I am not sure if you are referring to the internal changes required in
the code, or to the process as a whole.
A possible resource for actually "getting it done" might be this site:
http://crowdin.net/
They also go into technical stuff a little bit, however as that
depends largely on the development technology used, the links from the
previous poster are probably more applicable there. The basic thing
is to make sure everything in your program is Unicode safe first.

Thank you,
