Many thanks to Goeffrey's thoughtful comments about gluers of tasks.

The following article mainly relates to AI generated art and illustrations geared toward consumers, but near the end it makes the point that speed and efficiency alone do not enhance the value of the message. This especially holds true when passing the message on to humans (with pocketbooks) in many critical areas that must be tuned to influence and affect the emotions of the message recipients.

In my opinion, the fields of translation and interpretation are not doomed, but it is clear that the sector's former model of doing business in these fields has changed dramatically. Agencies with a stable of freelancers may disappear, but the number of in-house jobs (possibly remote) may actually increase as a result. The end customer will still have needs that AI alone cannot meet.
