I am proofing clinical trial documents, and came across the following with the current English gloss:
電子画像管理加算
electronic imaging management addition
As best I can make out, this is the centralized storage and management of digital medical imaging files for patients, as opposed to storing hard copy. Some Japanese texts parenthetically offer "フィルムレス加算" as a sort of clarification, which reinforces this view, but it still has that pesky 加算 in there!
I wonder exactly what the 加算 (addition, summation, accumulation, ???) part of this phrase means, and especially wonder what we call this in English. The existing rendering in English has the distinct disadvantage of producing no googits.
Is this just "digital imaging records management"?
