Hash 04 Nov 2019 will start from the Honiara Golf course car park.
A reminder that Rotary will be holding their annual Melbourne Cup Calcutta event, refer below for further explanation.
A reminder that all males are required to wear a sleeved shirt when entering the Clubhouse or attached areas.
As usual the kitchen will be open to non-members for dinner. You may need to allow 30 minutes for dinner orders.
Please park in an orderly fashion in the car park.

MELBOURNE CUP CALCUTTA

 

10,000 tickets are sold at $10 each, on the Monday night, 04 November 2019, prior to Melbourne Cup Race, 5 November 2019, of which there are 24 horses in the race, and the following takes place:

 

1.       All tickets are placed in the barrel for the draw.

2.       A ticket is drawn followed by a horse, the owner of the ticket is the “owner” of the horse for the auction, in total 24 tickets/horses are drawn

3.       An auction is held for the sale of each horse, the “owner” of the horse receives 50% of the amount bid for the horse and the other 50% goes into the pool. The person who buys the horse is then the owner for the Melbourne Cup Race. The “owner” can bid for the horse and therefore only pays 50% of the bid amount.

4.       If the horse is scratched on the morning of the Melbourne Cup the “owner” does not receive a refund.

5.       From the proceeds of the ticket sales 60% is retained by Rotary and 40% goes in the pool.

6.       The pool is split as follows;

Winner 50%

Second 30%

Third 15%

Last 5%
