Position : SQL Server DBA
Location – Dallas, TX – Locals Only
Duration – 6 months
Need GC, EAD & Citizens only

DESCRIPTION/OBJECTIVE As a member of the Enterprise Data Group department (BICOE), the primary objective of this position is to provide support and operations for the SQL servers and the databases that exists in all environments. This includes maintenance and enhancement of extracts for various 3rd party vendors and clients. Depending on the availability this position will also be used for small ETL projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Installation, configuration and upgrading of Microsoft SQL Server software and related products. Evaluate MSSQL server features and MSSQL server related products. Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures. Create and maintain schedules, builds and runs extracts/procedures for recurring daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly jobs. Assist on Database design and implementation for new applications and enhancements. Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges). Database tuning and performance monitoring. Must identify, track and resolve long running queries. Setup and maintain documentation and standards. Plan for growth and changes (capacity planning) in SQL server environment for all environments. Work as part of a team and provide 24*7 supports as required. Do general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams. Interface with Microsoft (MSSQL server) for technical support. Must adhere to and follow ITIL processes in place (Problem Management/Incident Management/Chain Management etc) Attend meetings with clients for requests/projects that are assigned. Will be required to learn and support existing applications. We would require very quick learning curve on this job. Must be capable of working with other team members and be involved in the whole SDLC process.
REQUIREMENTS At least 5 years of experience as SQL Server DBA in Information Technology delivering high impact technology solutions. At least 3 years of experience with production systems support and troubleshooting production issues are a must. Firm understanding of SQL, relational and multidimensional designs are a must. Strong problem-solving and metadata skills are a must. Exposure to administering OLAP environments in SQL Server is preferred. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills. Exposure to Sales Force is a plus. Bachelors Degree is preferred.
