Hi All!

I hope that you are on your way to beginning an exciting new school
year. Now that the year is beginning, I wanted to update you on the
materials that you requested through the Honeywell Program and to
obtain information about site visits.

Materials
Many orders have gone out already and should have arrived. If you
indicated you were doing the project in Sept or Oct you should have
your equipment by now. Please let me know through the Google group
when your equipment arrives so i can be sure you all are getting the
equipment you requested. The rest of the materials you requested have
been ordered and will be shipped to you in the coming weeks.

Site visits
As part the Honeywell program I will be scheduling site visits with
each of you. You will receive the last part of your stipend after
that has been completed.

The following list suggests some of the variations that site visit can
take:

One-on-one Planning --> assisting in preparation for one of the
activities
Working with you to increase your comfort level with any of the
activities (e.g. Weather Scope) or technologies (e.g. Excel, Google
Earth) that we used during the summer workshop

Classroom Observation--> Observe a class in session based on the
Honeywell projects.

Team teach --> I can help out with a lab based class or computer based
class just by being another free hand to pitch in and answer questions
and so on. Or, I am happy to introduce a project or cover a topic
that you would like me to cover with your students as part of your
lesson.

Other possibilities –-> If you have some other idea of how I might be
helpful to you in teaching your classes that is related to the summer
workshop, please let me know.

If you are planning to implement one of the projects or use the
equipment that you received, please respond with a time frame for a
visit as soon as you know when you will implement the project and let
me know how you would like me to be involved.

Thanks!
Greg

Please let me know if/when you are implementing a Honeywell project
anytime int he next month. My schedule is busy so I'd like to have
some heads up if possible.

I know a number of you intend to do the Boiling Point Project early on
so please let me know so I can at least stop by for a quick visit.
Afterwards you will get another check in the mail :)

Great to hear from you Alexis!  I look forward to visiting sometime soon then.  I will be out of town the last week in October and the 3rd week I may only have one day available but hopefully we can work something out.

Hi Greg, I am intending on starting my introduction tomorrow--11/9
and finishing with both classes by end of next week or so. Let me
know if any days are good for you. I did get all my supplies. I got
the pump--but I don't have any tubing ( i thought I might). Kelly

Hi Greg,
I actually am just wrapping up the boiling point project, so I am
going to wait to have you come when we do Musical Plates. One of the
hotplates did not work. Should I try to return it myself or should I
bring it back to you? The project went really well. My students are
doing their excel graphs and writing their conclusions this week.
Hope all is well.

Hi Alexis!
You are in Hoboken right?  I can come by some time and exchange the hot plate with one that works.  We can deal with Target.

Yes! Let me know when I can come visit you!  Don't forget there is a stipend check coming after that visit!!

When i come by I can bring you some of those milk cartons with cement on the bottom if you need them.

Just give me a shout!

Kelly,

I can come by almost any day this week. How about Thursday? What
time are your classes? You have the hand pump but it did not come
with any tubing? That's weird; it should. I can bring a piece of
tubing by. I have a meeting on wednesday afternoon so I could come by
Wednesday morning as well if that will work for you.

Let me know
Greg

Greg,
Yes I am in Hoboken. I can also come to Stevens if you would
like. Let me know what time is good for you. I will probably not get
to musical plates until the new year but I will let you know.

Hi Greg, On thursday, I have both of my classes working on the
project in the morning. Double 1st and 2nd and double 3rd and 4th--
Time is from 8:50 -11:30 am. I have the flask and adapter that
attaches to my sink--I thought I had tubing in the lab and I did not.
I was wondering if you have any of the containers with cement also. I
would like to do musical plates this year also. I hope to be ready on
thursday. Let me know if there are any changes for you. See ya then,
Kelly

Kelly,
I'll see you around 8:45 tomorrow.  I will bring some tubing and some of the cement houses.
My cell number is 551-697-2422 in case there are any last minute changes or cancellations.
See you then, Kelly!
Greg
