When you use these 2 options together, which would be my favorite setting, the window does resize to the size of the image, BUT before it is resized to "fit in window". This results in a window size that is always too big compared to the image.

Other than that, thank you so much for this image viewing software, I've been using it for years as my exclusive image viewer, it's perfect!

The function adjusting the app's window size to an image (Fit window to image, Ctrl+*) is available only on BandiView. Please contact us again at Google Groups for BandiView (https://groups.google.com/a/bandisoft.com/g/bandiview.forum ) if you have any other questions or issues with BandiView.

We believe that whatever the current view mode is enabled,  the app's window should be resized to the size of an image once you use Fit window to image. We have no current plan to change this policy, but if you have any other ideas of how the function should work, please feel free to contact us again and let us know.

I'll include two screenshots to illustrate what I mean exactly:

I use Honeyview with the option View Image > Fit in Window enabled:

And here are the Honeyview options in the settings dialog, including Adjust windows size to image size:

The white bars I've drawn in the previous picture show what happens when these options are used together. Instead of the windows being the same size as the image we see on screen, it is larger.

Here is another example that is more extreme. This is how the application shows up when I run the image file:

Hope this is clearer. And I don't think that's how these options should work together, right?

Thank you for your reply!

First, sorry for misinterpreting your problem in our previous reply.

We tested Honeyview exactly as you described here, with several pictures of various dimensions (resolutions) and aspect ratios, but the app always showed all the pictures with no letterbox or fillerbox.

For now, we should believe that the app gets interference from other apps installed on your computers. Please check whether the app works on other computers in the same way you are experiencing now. And if the problem occurs only when the app shows some particular pictures, consider sending us the files.

The issue you are experiencing now may occur if the resolution of a picture is larger than that of your computer monitor.

For example, your monitor is 1920×1080 and a picture is 2160×2160...

- The app will open a new window in 2160×2160 first.
- Resize the window to 1920×1080 to fit the monitor.
- Then resize the picture to 1080×1080 to fit the resized window, causing pillarboxes.

This issue is not due to errors in the app, but the behavior policies designed by the app's developer. Though we may be able to improve the policies in the future, we should take a conservative approach to consider other users who are already familiar with the current policies. We ask you for much understanding.

Okay, I see.

In my mind, it's always been a bug in the app, from the start. I was waiting on a version to fix it. Thanks for clarifying. I do wish there was a way to do that, though, haha!
