Good morning!
On Tuesday, October 6th at 7:00pm, the Honey Island Group Executive
Committee will meet at 118 Cypress Street in Hammond.
We encourage everyone -- anyone with interests
in things green and environmental -- to attend. The HIG has a
tradition of universal involvement; everyone is heard and included.
Please
come and take part.
Several issues have
arisen
lately, and this meeting will have immediate and specific impacts on
the
Group's direction for the next year and more. Most of the issues involve how
recent initiatives will involve the Honey Island Group There is
excitement about "re-energizing" the Group, but that will require (1)
people other than the current (decade-old) ExCom stepping up* and (2)
changes addressing the Group's financial limitations. The Group's
future depends on how we resolve these issues, and this meeting will be
the primary
venue for our doing that.
* Technically, Group officers and ExCom members serve calendar-year
terms, but we need people to assume responsibilities immediately.
Time will be
important. We will start promptly and adjourn at 9:00pm or before.
Please contact me at "wsussky at gmail.com" (replace " at " with "@")
or 985.893.5150 with
questions or to place something on the agenda..

Good morning, everyone!
This is just a reminder for tomorrow evening's Honey Island Group
Executive-Committee Meeting. It will be at 7:00pm at 118 Cypress
Street in Hammond.
Please keep in mind that "re-energizing" the Group will require people
other than the current Group officers to step up and take a role at
that level. Tomorrow will be the time to do that.
