I get it, this kind of critisicm generates clickbait for views and all that, but him and that Fantano dude exemplify why artistic criticism is so poorly done.

I have seen a steep drop off of 3rd party demos for new gear (in particular pedals and effects).
Most of the demos that are happening today are from the manufacturers or people connected with the manufacture. They're not bad demos. But, they are one dimensional and have to have a bias.

Just one. I've used "favorite" as it provides a lot of latitude. Mine is Steve Morse. A jack of so many trades and simply wonderful at all. And a good guy it seems.

Lets say you were a producer with a major label and you've seen a band perform live...and you want to produce their first recording.
What do your require from them as a minimum level of input and co-operation?
What do they need to show up with at the studio...for you to be committed?
