HAC: meeting announcement

Mark your calendar to come to the Homestead Art Club meeting at the historic Lily Lawrence Bow Library, 212 NW 1^st Avenue , Homestead , on Saturday, May 21^st, at 2:00P.M. The program will be by Barbara Van Kessel, who will show us helpful tips and techniques while teaching us about the art of beautiful handwriting:

Calligraphy

Barbara taught art for the Miami-Dade County Public School System for 20 years at Naranja Elementary School , and five years at night at Southridge and South Dade High Schools . She graduated with a BA in Commercial Art and Advertising from the University of Miami , where the love of lettering first attracted her interest. Later while taking courses at FIU in art education for her Master's and Specialist Level Degrees, she had the opportunity to take Calligraphy classes from a Master Calligrapher, and also from Dr. Clem Pennington, Head of the Art Education Dept. at FIU.

 

Homestead Art Club meetings are free and open to the public, so bring your family and friends. If you can bring a snack, that would be great, too.
