Hi,
I live in Australia, over here homeschooling is Illegal (I don't know
how they enforce it!) ! and it is very hard to find people that are
homeschooled over here! The goverment has released a thing called
Distance Ed which you fill in your school work and then send it away to
be marked!

And to reply to Sam, It is very hard to meet other homeschooling
families, we tried to set a homeschooling
groups up but everytime we do we have to shut it down because we don't
have enough people!

Yes, that's a big problem and it's another bad effect of school that's
often overlooked.
Schoolkids are at school during the day, so they have little time to
see other kids after
school. Even if they had homeschooled friends, there's little time to
see them. After school's out, they still have to do their homework,
while many sport activities are tied to school as well.

Another issue is liability. It's really hard to organize something for
kids, because one has to pay heaps for insuraqnce nowadays.

I agree with you totally...I don't know about with where you are but in
Australia alot of emphasis is placed on playing sport and good
sportmanship is not taught anymore:( (like other things that are
vitally important to the wellbieng of the community...).
I'm a member of Guides and we are having girls quit to play sport or
school pressures and the parents couldn't see what we were teaching
their kids:(.
I also think that because school is such a sterile enviroment that it
is not having a good effect and I don't think parents are waking up as
fast as they should be...
Yes, the libility is going through the roof...and the fad of sueing
somone is not wearing off!
