I bought the HomeRunTV app a little while ago. Mostly to throw my support behind the person (people?) working on this app, but also to see how my Nexus 7 could handle the native stream coming from my HDHomeRun Dual.
I really don't know what it takes, but what I'd really like to see is Google TV support for this app. I have a Vizio Co-Star, which I believe would have enough horse power to play the native streams. It also has wired Ethernet, which should help with bandwidth. Not sure what codecs it natively supports, but I am dying to use it to access my TV streams over the network.
Basically, Google TV works great if you have satellite, or cable, as you can pass this through the Google TV, and it really behaves as a smart TV. I'm a cable-cutter however. I have Netflix and Hulu Plus, and use over-the-air broadcasts to fill in the rest. With my current setup, I have to switch inputs back and forth between live TV and the Google TV box. Being able to watch and control my HDHomeRun from the Google TV would totally streamline this system.
Have you looked into this at all? I'm not super familiar with the process, but if there is something simple you can do to enable Google TV support in the app, I would be very interested. Even if you make no changes to the interface, I would be happy using the mouse-pointer to get around if that's what it takes.
Thanks.
