I bought the HomeRunTV app a little while ago. Mostly to throw my support behind the person (people?) working on this app, but also to see how my Nexus 7 could handle the native stream coming from my HDHomeRun Dual.

I really don't know what it takes, but what I'd really like to see is Google TV support for this app. I have a Vizio Co-Star, which I believe would have enough horse power to play the native streams. It also has wired Ethernet, which should help with bandwidth. Not sure what codecs it natively supports, but I am dying to use it to access my TV streams over the network.

Basically, Google TV works great if you have satellite, or cable, as you can pass this through the Google TV, and it really behaves as a smart TV. I'm a cable-cutter however. I have Netflix and Hulu Plus, and use over-the-air broadcasts to fill in the rest. With my current setup, I have to switch inputs back and forth between live TV and the Google TV box. Being able to watch and control my HDHomeRun from the Google TV would totally streamline this system.

Have you looked into this at all? I'm not super familiar with the process, but if there is something simple you can do to enable Google TV support in the app, I would be very interested. Even if you make no changes to the interface, I would be happy using the mouse-pointer to get around if that's what it takes.

Thanks.

I would love to port it to google tv. Right now I've been told by people who have side loaded the app onto google tvs that it crashes on startup. I don't have a google tv so I can't test it myself (and I haven't been able to get an emulator to work on my computer). If you are able to get logs from a google tv when starting that app that would help me out a lot towards getting it to work.

Thanks for the reply John. Unexpected level of enthusiasm about Google TV support. Not used to that :)

I'll try and see if I can get those logs for you.

I might be interested in mailing you my Google TV to help with the development if you promise to return it when you have something working. Let me know if you think this would help.

As an avid GoogleTV user, I second the motion to get this working GoogleTV.

If anyone DVR-like functions were added, that would be pretty awesome too..

I'd also love to see this working on Google TV -- that would make my month!

I too would like to see Google TV, I even have an extra one I can loan until the app is completed.

I agree. Google TV support would be awesome. In short, it would allow me to toss out these ridiculously priced rental cable boxes all together especially if it supported streaming the protected channels as well.

I've already dropped my Comcast provided DVR for a Media Center PC with XBox 360 as an "Extender" but the cost is high compared to a ~$100 Logitech Google TV device.

I'd be happy with steaming via the "StreamServer" but direct streaming would be nice too.

Great work!

I TOTALLY agree!! Integration with GoogleTV must be done. I hope an update arrives soon that makes this possible.
