Friday April 19
Bldg 1 and 5 trustees, please distribute to all residents (renters and owners).
Landlords, please share with your tenants.
Thank you.
Building 2 (70 Howard)
CONSTRUCTION WORK PLAN
for Friday April 19, 2013
from 7AM to Noon
Purpose:
Traffic will need to be temporarily redirected and street parking spaces will be occupied to accommodate a concrete pump and concrete trucks necessary to pour the foundation grade beams at 70 Howard Street (Bldg 2), Somerville, MA
Work Description and Sequencing (refer to attached plan):
‘No Parking’ signs will be placed on along Howard Street on Wed. April 17, 2013, 48 hours before the operation.
These spaces directly in front of Bldg. 50 will be for additional worker parking for the Friday concrete work.
On the day of the operation, a Somerville police detail will be hired to help direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
A 34 meter concrete boom pump will be located at the western end of Howard Street. It will be positioned to allow ingress and egress to the underground parking garage at 60 Howard Street. The size of the pump and its outriggers will occupy the sidewalk.
A sidewalk permit has been obtained from the City. Sidewalk traffic will be detoured around the work area.
A traffic plan has been reviewed and filed with the City Traffic Dept.
Vehicular traffic will be restricted from Tannery Brook Row, except for on site residential use.
The easiest access will be to/from Elmwood Street. Detour signs will be posted to redirect non-residents.
Concrete trucks will be held in a remote staging area and requests will be made by radio to release the trucks as needed, likely in 20 minute intervals so as to not congest the neighborhood and idle in the street.
Concrete Trucking Route:
(see attached plan)
After completion of the concrete pumping operation, then the boom will be retracted and the pumper will drive down Tannery Brook Row to complete its washout in the Elmwood Street parking lot.
The entire operation on Friday is expected to last one half of the day (morning only).
All ‘No Parking’ signage will be removed immediately after completion.
A subsequent Mitigation Plan for all other construction activities will be distributed in coming days.
