Lesson 28TT - Labor Remedies

-- some remedies that may be indicated:
(from a Dr Luc lecture on Pediatrics and posted by Tricia Feijo)

Carbo veg 1M -- exhausted, can't breathe, wants air

Kali carb 200c -- back labor, baby in wrong position (Puls if breech)

Rescue remedy -- when in doubt

Aconite 1M -- fear, shock, distress, moaning

Gelsemium 200c -- anticipation anxiety w trembling, dullness of
mental faculties

Pulsatilla 200c -- tearful, weeping, sad, faintness during labor

Chamomilla 1M -- pain and capriciousness, asks for something and refuses it

Ignatia 1M -- bad news, hysterical, can't stop crying

Cimicifuga 200c -- if cervix isn't dilating quickly enough,
contractions have stopped, incoherent, melancholic

Caulophyllum 200c -- if contractions are not regular, pain flying
different places

Ipecac 200c -- nausea during labor

POST LABOR REMEDIES:

Staphysagria 200c -- if episiotomy or C-section was performed

Phosphorous 1M -- if anaesthesia of any kind or heavy bleeding

Arnica 1M -- if heavy bleeding or bruising

Bellis perennis 1M -- reduces tissue swelling/soreness

Antimonium tart. 200c -- for the baby as needed for gurgles or
respiratory prob's there are many remedies that can help baby for
other problems, like urine retention etc; too many to list! But the
above can help mom greatly, and that is a good beginning for the baby
