February HOL Bake Sale

Dear All,

Our bake sale at the Vine Cafe is on February 25th, next Wednesday, at
the Community Center, 11 to 1pm! We hope to see you there! And if you
can bake or make something for us this month, please do send me a note
and let me know. Again, donation can be directly drop off at our booth
in Community Center's big function room by 11 am. Our bake sale
coordinator, Nancy Lee, will be there to help receive your donation!

Good news to share with you all on our fund raise bake sale:

- Starting from this month, we will also hold monthly bake sale at
DOCKS at 3pm on the same day of the Vine sale. So if you miss the
morning sale at Community Center, you can now come get some treats at
the DOCKS too. The table will be set up right at the reception area so
it's easy to find. One of our moms, Margaret Picard, will be the one
helping to organize the DOCKS sale.

Updates on the HOL orphanage:

- There are now 4 kids at the HOL apartment with 3 staff only. They
are short on staff both in Shanghai and in their main facility in
Shanxi. Jingxia, the head staff in Shanghai is back from the leave for
her wedding now.

- HOL lost a baby, Chunlu, who had been struggling with birth defect
in her GI system since birth. Our donation had supported her both in
the special formula that she needed as well as her hospitalization. I
would like you to know that your generosity had provided her the best
that she could possibly had in her short life. Thank you for all you
have contributed to HOL.

- The mom volunteer that we have now to teach Huiming, the 5-year-old
girl who is in Shanghai long term for her heart condition, weekly will
be repatriating in June and we need someone who can take over. If you
are interested in volunteering in this way, please contact me.

words and invite your friends to come!
