Want to Bake for Home Of Love Bake Sale at The Vine - March 18?

Hi, everyone!

Once again it is time for the Home of Love Bake Sale at The Vine at
the Community Center on March 18 from 11- 1 p.m. If interested in
donating an item, please drop off at The Vine Wednesday morning. This
sale is coordinated by Nancy Lee. There will also be a bake sale at
the Dulwich Ducks campus in the afternoon after classes end at 3
p.m.. This sale will be coordinating by a Ducks mom, Margaret
Picard. So, if you cannot make it to purchase items in the morning,
you have another chance!


Good news to share with you all on our fund raiseing bake sale last
month:


- Last month we raised over 5000RMB for the Home of Love orphans.
Thanks to all of you that support this!

Updates on the HOL orphanage:

- The mom volunteer that we have now to teach Huiming, the 5-year-old
girl who is in Shanghai long term for her heart condition, weekly
will
be repatriating in June and we need someone who can take over. If you
are interested in volunteering in this way, please contact Judith

Dear HOL Friends,

Don't forget that we also sell monthly at the Dulwich College Kindergarten (DUCKS) at 3 pm on the same day with the Vine. We will need lots of baked goods donation so please do consider to bake for the orphans.

We are also taking pre-sale order for some of our popular items starting from this month:

(1) Lee Wigle's famous Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. 200RMB for a whole or you can get a friend to split one with you. Lee's cake is fabulous and freezes beautifully.

(2) Nhi Arslain's homemade Low-Sugar Strawberry Freezer Jam. The great thing of this jam is that you REALLY TASTE the fresh strawberry. We've been waiting till the peak of the strawberry season to make this and if you haven't try it, you really should try some. 40RMB for a one-cup box but larger-sized jars are also available!

(3) Judith Huang's homemade Pesto and Caponata. Basil Pine Nut Pesto (1/2 cup, 2-3 servings) is 50RMB each, Cilatro Walnut Pesto (1/2 cup, 2-3 servings) is 40RMB. And Caponata (Italian veggie white wine stew, 1 cup) is 35RMB.
