Dear Friends,
Our April HOL bake sale at the Vine and DUCKS (Dulwich Kindergarten Shanghai) is set on April 22, next Wednesday. Please do come and join us at these locations and, if you are willing, please consider baking for us this month. We would appreciate any bake goods donation. You can either drop them off at the Community Center by 10:30 am on that day or contact me to make special drop off arrangement.
Apart from our monthly bake sale, we also have two new events that we would like to annouce:
(1) Cooking Class Luncheons:
We have a series of 3 fund-raising cooking classes/luncheons on Vietnamese (Apr. 23), Brazilian (Apr. 30) and Japanese (May 7) food lined up in the next few weeks. If you or your friends are interested in any of these fun and meaningful events, please let me know asap. The cost for each class is 400RMB and it is a 5-6 course meal which includes cooking demonstration, recipes and, of course, the lovely food and drinks that you will help to prepared. Please see attached for more details.
(2) Partnership with Yipin:
We now have a partnership with Yipin who carries a great selection of baking and cooking wares, kitchen linens and appliances. You can check out their products online at http://www.yipin-online.com. Yipin also just opend a lovely showroom in a historical building in the old French Concession. I have attached a coupon above and if you purchase with this coupon, 20% of your purchase will be donated to HOL orphange. So please do take a look and pass on this great opportunity to your friends.
Updates on HOL:
(1) The Lord took another baby from HOL early this month. This is a less than 3-month-old baby boy, Fong Yu, who had been in the ICU for nearly 2 months. He had been struggling with difficulty to breath due to disfunctional lungs. We thank the Lord for allowing us to help him to be as comfortable as possible during his short time here on earth.
(2) Please pray for Anran, a 2-and-a-half year old girl, who was waiting for her orthopedics surgery by a visiting US orthopedist in April. The surgery has now been canceled because of shortage of fund. We ask you to please pray that her surgery can be rescheduled quickly and that He will provide the needed resource for Anran to have this critical surgery.
(3) The next in line for surgery is a 3-year-old girl, Hui Ming. She is now ready for her second heart surgery and we ask you to lift her up for preparation of this surgical procedure. Please pray that her health condition will remain stable so that this surgery will be possible and that enough fund can be raised to cover her surgery.
