17th Homelessness Marathon

We're heading for Florida!  The 17th Annual Homelessness Marathon will
originate from Sarasota, Florida.  Why Sarasota?   Because we're holding
this Marathon in conjunction with The National Coalition for the
Homeless, which has named one Florida city after another (including
Sarasota, one year) as the cruelest city in America.  We want to push back
against that cruelty.

We'll be inviting delegations of homeless people from other Florida cities
to convene in Sarasota, where we've got a great affiliate, community radio
WSLR.  WSLR, by the way, just happens to have a huge outdoor patio right in
the middle of a Sarasota homeless district.  And we'll be there at peak
snowbird season, which might be especially interesting.

We'll be providing more details over the coming weeks, but here's two
things to know now.

First, the date:  The 17th Homelessness Marathon will begin at 7:00 p.m.,
ET, Tuesday, February 17, 2015 and it will end at 9:00 a.m. ET, Wednesdasy,
February 18th.
