I am pleased to announce that our next broadcast -- the 18th Annual
Homelessness Marathon -- will originate from Washington, DC, starting at 7:00
p.m., EST on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 and ending at 9:00 a.m. the
following morning. As always, we will talk with experts, take calls, approach
numerous too-little-discussed topics and, above all, put homeless people on the
air directly. The broadcast will air live on non-commercial radio stations
across the country and will also be available over the internet.

We will be hosted in Washington by Pacifica radio station, WPFW; the Church of
the Epiphany, which reaches out to homeless people as part of its mission; and
Street Sense, the homeless paper of DC.

For us, originating from our nation's capitol in an election year is a big
deal. It's not that we expect to get caught up in national politics --
homelessness never gets mentioned much, if at all, in that context -- but we
want to do some special things in honor of the occasion. One of these special
things is something we could use your help with. It is this petition to HUD,
calling for an end to the persecution of homeless people:

We hope you will sign it, post it and pass it around.

I will have more to tell you later. In the meantime, have a great
Thanksgiving!
