Fellow rosin snorters,
I've been corresponding with Phil Storr VK5SRP and asked him to double check my drawings. Sure enough, he found an error! Check the earbud jack and you'll see that not only did I produce a short across the earbuds but there is no ground return on the jack.
Corrected and enhanced diagram is attached.
