Role: Sr Java with Scala Developer
Location, San Francisco, CA
Start Date: Immediate
Duration: 6 months
 

Skills Required:

·         C++, Java, Scala, JavaScript, Angular.js, NO SQL DB, Restful web services.

·         We have built a brand new platform primarily in Scala on the server-side.

·         For our web-apps, we largely develop rich front-ends using JavaScript and frameworks like AngularJS.

·         We integrate into MySQL and MongoDB databases, as well as numerous http based services and our continuous delivery infrastructure.

·         We exclusively use AWS for our infrastructure needs.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Writes code… lots of it

·         Ensure high code quality through automation testing (unit, integration and functional)

·         Demonstrate a can-do attitude

·         Pro-actively work to debug and resolve complex technical and functional issues

·         Communicate clearly and expertly coordinate complex work with globally distributed teams

·         Wear multiple hats as a Software Engineer(Dev, Test, DevOps) to help the entire team succeed

 Qualifications:

·         BS, in Computer Science or related field

·         Demonstrated 5 years full stack expertise with one or more of these programming languages:

·         Scala, Java, C++/C#, JavaScript

·         Knowledge and experience with Object Oriented Programming

·         Knowledge, experience or strong interest in functional programming concepts and languages (such as Scala or Clojure)

·         Strong experience with automation testing, writing unit tests and a quality first mindset

·         Strong ability to troubleshoot and debug complex functional and performance related issues

·         Experience with creating and documenting design patterns

·         Experience with Scala frameworks, such as Scalatra or Play

·         Experience with an IDE for development (such as IntelliJ)

·         Experience working with SQL and NoSQL(MongoDB, Cassandra, Hadoop,) data structures

·         Strong working knowledge of RESTful service design

·         Knowledge and experience with Linux

·         Experience developing with continuous delivery / continuous integration processes and tools (such as Jenkins, etc)

·         Familiarity with cloud based infrastructure (such as Amazon AWS)

·         Familiarity with debugging code issues through tools such as Splunk, etc

·         Familarity with Domain Driven Design principles

·         Fearless and passionate about new technologies and languages

·         Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
