Don't know if you got an answer to your question yet or now, I just came
back off vacation.

From the power source will have two hot wires and a neutral wire. On
the water heater, the two hot wires connect to its two wires. The
neutral wire grounds to the equipment. If I were wiring this, I would
actually check to verify that your three power wires are indeed 120 volt
lines to ground that make 240 with each other. You could have just a
standard hot, ground, and grounded wire there. If this has been
explained unclear, just ask and I will give a thorough answer.

I need to wire a wall mounted electric heater. I have the breaker,
heater, wire and thermostat. What is the wiring configuration since the
thermostat and heater each have two wires and the wire from the box and
breaker is three wire cable in order to get the 240 volts
