Custom webpage inclusion

Starting out with the home-assistant framework and pretty impressed so far. The presence detection is not very precise at the moment and there seems to be an issue with the nmap pinging as well but I'll sort that out. I am inquiring what would be considered the best way to include a window / card containing a custom webpage. I developed a D3 visualisation on weather/precipitation forecast for 72 hours in advance and would like to have this on my overview window when I start running HA on a wall-mounted tablet. Looking at the FOSCAM component, it would seem that there is a way to fill a 'card' in the UI with custom component. The browser component doesn't fit the bill since it is is called as a service and does not seem to contain any UI/visualisation aspects. 

Not asking for a ready-to-go solution here, just wanting to check whether this use case has come up previously and what would be considered the best approach according to HA's devs.
