Hi guys,
Does anybody try to use the Logitech Harmony Hub with Home Assistant ?
(there is an existing python api : https://github.com/jterrace/pyharmony).
Thanks for your reply.

Laurent

That API appears to be for the Harmony Link, which is different than the popular Harmony Smart Hub which I assume you are talking about.

Hi Nolan,
You're right, i'm talking about the Harmony Hub, and I already checked that the pyharmony is usable with the hub, despite the github description.
Any plan to support this hub in the future ?
Thanks again for your answer.

Oh that's cool.  I'll give it shot as I'd like to integrate my smart hub as well.

Thanks for sharing.

Check the forks on github, as some guys have already put some enhancement on the jterrace first shot.
I don't remember which one I used, will check this this evening...

I tried the original code from jterrace without any luck.  Thanks to your suggestion to check the forks I found one that was able to connect, supports more commands than jterrace, and has python3 support:

I was able to quickly connect to my hub and issue it some simple commands.  I will try to integrate it with HA, but my python skills may not be up to the task.  So far I have only created simple components for sensors and switches.  I'll try and keep you updated if I make any progress.

This is a great find and would be an awesome addition to Home-Assistant.

Thanks,
Nolan

Maybe this helps as a workaround , I am using this to control my Hub from other apps.
It can be integrated with python as far as I know. But, I am new to HA and I did not find the time to try something.

Is anyone still interested in this? I have made a custom component that can enable / disable activities, and updates the status every 30 seconds. I have used https://github.com/jterrace/pyharmony as a base, and added functions with the openhab binding as an example.

I would like to add volume, channel and play controls to the interface to control the activities (where available). Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi guys,
A request has been made for this component, see https://github.com/balloob/home-assistant/issues/1003.
See you soon ;)
