Geofence integration in HA

Any view on the best support for crossing geofences with an iPhone - and integrating with HA?

I'd like to turn on my external lights - and open/close the gates.

IFTTT is a possibility (although I've found them slow outside HA- don't know if this is on the 'detecting' or 'sending event side')

Clearly there is work going on around Owntracks.

Or I could do something via Vera, and Philips Hue - which both have geofence support for their own devices.

Any experiences, good or bad?

You could have a look at Geofancy. Once I also asked about this on Github.

It will be possible using OwnTracks that is currently living in the dev branch. I am planning to have geofences be included in the next release.

Is geofence now included in HA 0.7.7 ?
If yes, how make it works ? I define a geofence on my android in Owntracks but I don't see it on HA ?

Home Assistant currently only supports the locations from OwnTracks. To define a geofence you will have to define a zone in Home Assistant, see the documentation about zones.
