From the Pastor:
This weekend, our worship services will be both informative and exciting.
First, the
informative:
1) Throughout the year, I have offered to do a short, planned giving workshop for the congregation. Planned giving is not usually at the top of people’s idea of what is important. In the first place, most people think that planned giving happens when we die. If you come to the workshop following the service, you will see this truth as incomplete. Planned Giving is simply giving that occurs over time. We don’t have to die to understand how it works. Planned giving also offers a host of possibilities, so I hope you will plan to be a part of it. We will begin about 11:30 in the library beside the fellowship hall. John and Ellen Yates, members of St. John’s in Atlanta, will also be here to discuss the opportunity for a new Synod office. And, Mark Ritter, a member of our congregation who works as a tax lawyer will also be present to make sure I don’t lead you down the wrong path (I don’t think that will happen because I used to provide these presentations on behalf of the ELCA Foundation).
2) And, our Gospel lesson this weekend will focus on the very important matter of good and evil in the world as Jesus discusses the parable of the Wheat and the Tares.
Plan to worship with us this weekend at either of our services!

"'Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,' says the Lord Almighty, 'and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.'" - Malachi 3:10
Pastor Scott has generously offered to lead a session with on Planned Giving after service today. He will offer some ideas and insights into ways we can maximize our giving to God both in the present and the future.
We hope you will stay and attend this special presentation in the Library following fellowship, and to prayerfully consider how you can best serve the Lord by returning your gifts to Him.
Our next opportunity to serve the hungry in our community at MUST

W-ELCA Annual Women’s Scholarship – Deadline is next Sunday, July 30th!
Holy Trinity’s Women of the ELCA organization will again offer a $1000.00 educational scholarship. It is the intent of this organization to encourage women of all ages to expand their current talents as a Christian and perhaps carry those and newly learned talents into an area that will enable her to help others know God too. Please review the application for all requirements and details. The application is available on Holy Trinity’s website. Hard copies are currently posted on the W-ELCA bulletin board, near the church office door.
Lutheranch Needs Volunteers
As you may know, Lutheranch is nearly ready to open their new building. Dedication will be on August 5, and they are planning a great celebration. If you have time this weekend, please go to Lutheranch to see the new addition and to help them to move into it. Any kind of help will be appreciated and you may go anytime on Friday or Saturday of this week to assist.
A/V Volunteers Needed
We are seeking volunteers to run our AV booth. Both women and men are invited and full training will be provided. Volunteers are typically scheduled about every 6 weeks when we have a full team. Rotation will begin as soon as you’re trained and available. Speak with Tim Young or the church office to volunteer. Thank you!!

WORSHIP COORDINATORS NEEDED
We are in immediate need of worship coordinators for the 11:00 a.m. service on Sunday mornings. This person needs to be in the sacristy area around 30 minutes prior to the service to be sure all of the worship servants for the service arrive and are robed and prepared for the service. Once everyone is in place, the worship coordinator is done for that Sunday. If we have several worship coordinators, we can alternate months which makes it easier for all. We could also use additional 8:30 worship coordinators so they can alternate as well. Please consider if this would be an easy way for you to serve here at Holy Trinity.
