From the Pastor:

This weekend, we come to the Gospel reading that leads to the crucifixion of Jesus--the raising of Lazarus. Lazarus is clearly dead. Many people become aware of the miracle. Jesus becomes a threat to the established order. The scribes and Pharisees begin to plot to have him killed. Stories such as this abound in history. Yet the Jesus story is unique: Jesus comes as  the Savior and Redeemer of the world. Today, we celebrate God's gift of salvation and though the story is complicated and difficult for us to hear, it is our story of God's powerful redemption. As we focus on how the story unfolds, we come to understand the promise and gift of God's powerful act of love in our lives. Indeed, God will raise us up too! Come to worship as we share God's joy and life together!

Pastor Scott

Lent and Easter brochures are available on the wooden table in the Fellowship Hall with the schedule of all events during this Lent and Easter season.  Please pick one up along with the Lenten coin folder, which this year will benefit the “40 Days of Hunger” initiative.  You may return the Lenten coin folder in its envelope any time during this season.

"40 Days of Giving"

We are excited to be part of the ELCA’s emphasis on World Hunger and having several options to participate is always nice. We are asking our families to give one dollar a day for 40 days. If 250 of our members or family units give just 1 dollar a day for 40 days we can raise $10,000!  WOW!  It's remarkable what can be done when we all work together!

Other ways you can get involved:

Pink pig banks are on a ministry table in the Fellowship Hall, another way you can be involved, and you can give $30.00 to buy a big for a family in a third world country and help them get out of poverty.

We will also have a small group focusing on “40 Days of Hunger” that will meet each Sunday through Lent. Who would guess that doing so little could make such a difference? It will absolutely change peoples’ lives!

WORSHIP COORDINATORS NEEDED

We are in immediate need of worship coordinators for the 11 a.m. service on Sunday mornings.  This person needs to be in the sacristy area around 30 minutes prior to the service to be sure all of the worship servants for the service arrive and are robed and prepared for the service.  Once everyone is in place, the worship coordinator is done for that Sunday.  If we have several worship coordinators, we can alternate months which makes it easier for all.  We could also use additional 8:30 worship coordinators so they can alternate also.  Please consider if this would be an easy way for you to serve here at Holy Trinity.

Did you know that you can now donate to Holy Trinity through our website?  Click on "Giving" at the top of the page, then press the "Donate" button.

Simply Giving, another simple and convenient way to give.
Consider signing up for electronic giving.   Holy Trinity relies on the financial support of the congregation and electronic giving offers an easy way to give on a recurring basis.

Please contact the church office for details.   Thank you!

Collections:  Youth collect aluminum cans.  Please place rinsed cans in Aluminum bin in the parking lot but please put the tabs in the Ronald McDonald collection in the library.  Eyeglasses and hearing aids, white socks, bars of soap, and food of the month are collected in marked bins in the fellowship hall.
