From the Pastor:

This coming weekend, we continue our discussion about being a disciple. Our Gospel lesson describes the difficulty of discipleship by promising that the yoke God provides is easy and the burden is light. Sometimes, we might feel that this promise is difficult to believe and accept. Life rushes in and crowds us out. We don't know where to turn. Yet, the promise is indeed real. Jesus bears the cross of life for us, and offers us a message of hope and salvation. What Jesus tells us is simple: Life won't always be easy but he will always be a part of our lives and help us to overcome our difficulties. Truly, this is the power of God's grace at work.

May God bless each of you as we begin a new week. I look forward to seeing you at worship.

Pastor Scott

Focus on Planned Giving--July 23

Following our worship service on July 23, Pastor Scott will present a short program on Planned Giving. Most of the time, this kind of giving relates to end of life issues. However, there are important ways that we can use planned giving techniques to make gifts that will benefit the things we care about while we are still living. Plan to stay for this presentation in the library after the fellowship time.

“Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.” - Psalms 96:3

Here at Holy Trinity, we are so blessed to have an active, vibrant youth ministry. From the youngest visitor, to our students who will enter college in the fall, our church offers God's love to each child. The wonderful youth at Holy Trinity sometimes seem to possess the strongest faith, and they are among our best ambassadors to our neighborhoods and out in the world.

This summer, they have welcomed family and visitors alike to Vacation Bible School. They have packed lunches for MUST ministries, raised funds for multiple activities and organizations, helped keep our church's ministries alive, attended Affirm youth program in Alabama, and next week many will travel on a mission trip to Puerto Rico. We pray for the safe travel of our youth and our youth coordinators, and we pray that God will continue to use them to touch the lives of others. We also thank Him for the special roles our youth play in our lives and in the life of our church

WORSHIP COORDINATORS NEEDED

We are in immediate need of worship coordinators for the 11 a.m. service on Sunday mornings.  This person needs to be in the sacristy area around 30 minutes prior to the service to be sure all of the worship servants for the service arrive and are robed and prepared for the service.  Once everyone is in place, the worship coordinator is done for that Sunday.  If we have several worship coordinators, we can alternate months which makes it easier for all.  We could also use additional 8:30 worship coordinators so they can alternate as well.  Please consider if this would be an easy way for you to serve here at Holy Trinity.

PayPal - Did you know that you can now donate to Holy Trinity through our website?  Click on "Giving" at the top of the page, then press the "Donate" button.

Simply Giving, another simple and convenient way to give.  Please consider signing up for electronic giving.   Holy Trinity relies on the financial support of the congregation and electronic giving offers an easy way to give on a recurring basis.  Please contact the church office for details.   Thank you!

Collections:  Youth collect aluminum cans.  Please place rinsed cans in Aluminum bin in the parking lot but please put the tabs in the Ronald McDonald collection in the library.  Eyeglasses and hearing aids, white socks, bars of soap, and food of the month are collected in marked bins in the fellowship hall.

Collections for MUST Ministries:  We have our ongoing collection of food, clothing, towels, blankets, etc. for MUST Ministries, as well as the collection of business clothes suitable for interviews.  Also, sign up for the Loaves and Fishes MUST lunch.

See you in Worship,

Connie Kalliomaa
