• Saturday worship is led by Chas Childers and the Holy Trinity Praise Band.
• Sunday Worship is ELW Setting2 with Mimi Jones, Soprano.
July 8/9 Update
• Attendance: 270
• Weekly Budget Need: $19,812 Giving received: $14,314
From the Pastor:
This week, our congregation has many prayer needs:
1) Remember the women of the ELCA as they meet in convention this week and particularly remember the women from Holy Trinity who have journeyed to Minneapolis to be a part of the assembly.
2) Remember the members of our Youth Group and adults as they venture forth for their mission trip in Puerto Rico. This year, our youth earned more than $12,000 to make their trip. We are extraordinarily blessed by the work they do and they enrich our lives together as a congregation greatly.
3) Remember the Lee, Hammock and Schleif families on the loss of Katie Lee, Tim Hammock and Paul Schleif. Remember the Langdon family on the recent loss of Jane Anne Miller-Phar, Jane Langdon’s mother. Also, remember the Walker and Pomplun families as their time of grief continues. This has been a difficult time of grief for these as well as other families in the congregation noted on the prayer list.
4) Finally, remember all of us in prayer together as we prepare for the coming of the new pastor. Within a few days, the Church Council will be meeting with the candidate, and the process will be moving forward. Please note dates for various events involving the congregation. This is both an exciting time and a time of caution as long-term changes begin. And, for me personally, this is a bittersweet time. I am grateful that the congregation is moving forward, but Karen and I have enjoyed our time here very much and we will miss you all very much.
Also, remember that on July 23 following the fellowship time after the service, I will provide a short presentation on Planned Giving for the congregation. Having worked in this field for the ELCA for several years, I will be discussing resources the church provides that will benefit individuals as well as Holy Trinity. I look forward to seeing you on July 23. We will also have a short discussion of the plans for our Southeastern Synod relating to planned giving too.
May God bless the ministry that accrues in our life together as God's people!
Pastor Scott

Ministry Stations this week: W-ELCA Wild Women Weekend, Council – Q & A and Call Committee – Information
Youth Ministries - We pray for the safe travel of our 22 youth and adults as they travel to share in the work and lives of the people of Ponce, Puerto Rico on July 16 -22. We thank God for continuing to use them to touch the lives of others.
Stewardship Committee
"'Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,' says the Lord Almighty, 'and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.'" - Malachi 3:10
Our congregation has been so blessed by the gift of Pastor Mark Scott during our search for our next long-term minister, and we celebrate the year he has given us.
Now, he has another gift to share with our congregation! Following next week's Sunday service on July 23, Pastor Scott will present a short program on Planned Giving. He will offer some ideas and insights into ways we can maximize our giving to God both in the present and in the future.
We invite you to attend this special presentation in the Library after fellowship and to prayerfully consider how you can best serve the Lord by returning your gifts to Him.
Our next opportunity to serve the hungry in our community at MUST
is August 1. We will need more help in the summer months, due to vacations. Please contact Laurie Johnson at
laurasieb...@gmail.com if you would like to cook, serve or support this ministry.
"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:40
Lutheranch Needs Volunteers
As you may know, Lutheranch is nearly ready to open their new building. Dedication will be on August 5, and they are planning a great celebration. If you have time this weekend, please go to Lutheranch to see the new addition and to help them to move into it. Any kind of help will be appreciated and you may go anytime on Friday or Saturday of this week to assist.
A/V Volunteers Needed
We are seeking volunteers to run our AV booth. Both women and men are invited and full training will be provided. Volunteers are typically scheduled about every 6 weeks when we have a full team. Rotation will begin as soon as you’re trained and available. Speak with Tim Young or the church office to volunteer. Thank you!!

Habitat Fundraisers – SAVE THE DATES!!!
• July 22nd Wine Tastings from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Vino 100 located at 131 S. Main St. Alpharetta
• September 22nd 13th Annual Taste of Habitat at the Metropolitan Club, Alpharetta
WORSHIP COORDINATORS NEEDED
We are in immediate need of worship coordinators for the 11 a.m. service on Sunday mornings. This person needs to be in the sacristy area around 30 minutes prior to the service to be sure all of the worship servants for the service arrive and are robed and prepared for the service. Once everyone is in place, the worship coordinator is done for that Sunday. If we have several worship coordinators, we can alternate months which makes it easier for all. We could also use additional 8:30 worship coordinators so they can alternate as well. Please consider if this would be an easy way for you to serve here at Holy Trinity.
PayPal - Did you know that you can now donate to Holy Trinity through our website? Click on "Giving" at the top of the page, then press the "Donate" button.
Simply Giving, another simple and convenient way to give. Please consider signing up for electronic giving. Holy Trinity relies on the financial support of the congregation and electronic giving offers an easy way to give on a recurring basis. Please contact the church office for details. Thank you!
Collections: Youth collect aluminum cans. Please place rinsed cans in Aluminum bin in the parking lot but please put the tabs in the Ronald McDonald collection in the library. Eyeglasses and hearing aids, white socks, bars of soap, and food of the month are collected in marked bins in the fellowship hall.
Collections for MUST Ministries: We have our ongoing collection of food, clothing, towels, blankets, etc. for MUST Ministries, as well as the collection of business clothes suitable for interviews. Also, sign up for the Loaves and Fishes MUST lunch.
See you in Worship,
Connie Kalliomaa
