Greetings, Holy Trinity Members and Friends,

Worship for the Week of July 11/12.  The Liturgical Color is green.

When Amos told what he saw when God held up the plumb line of justice next to Israel—that the poor were being trampled—he was a threat to the power of priests and king. John the Baptist also spoke truth to power, and Herod had him beheaded. In Herod's fear that Jesus is John returned from the dead, we may hear hope for the oppressed: that all the prophets killed through the ages are alive in Jesus. We are called to witness to justice in company with them.

Saturday Worship is at 5:30 PM.   Chas Childers is the visiting worship leader with the Voices of Faith members leading worship.  Music includes:  Let Everything That Has Breath; Be Glorified; The Heart of Worship; We Fall Down; You Are My King (Amazing Love); How Great is Our God.  Coffee Fellowship is hosted by Chris Kofoed.

Sunday Worship at 10:00 am ONLY    6th Sunday after Pentecost – Now the Feast with Chris Anderson, solo.   Music includes:  All People That on Earth Do Dwell; Glory to God in the Highest; Faith of Our Fathers; Turn My Heart to You; My Faith Looks Up to Thee; Beautiful Savior; Lead On, O King Eternal.  Coffee Fellowship is hosted by Coffee Fellowship Coordinator.

One Sunday Service at 10:00 a.m. will continue during July.

Attendance is traditionally sparse during the summer months so we will try

consolidating the services this summer.

This will be a good way to see folks that normally go to a different service!

Saturday service will remain at 5:30 p.m.

ELCA Presiding Bishop’s Call to 50 Days of Prayer

In the seven weeks leading to the start of the ELCA Churchwide Assembly on August 17, Bishop Mark Hanson invites us all to join in 50 days of renewed and focused prayer around the Scriptures that will be used at the assembly.

You may pick up a packet of Scriptures, prayers and songs from the wooden information table in the Fellowship Hall or view at:  http://www.elca.org/Who-We-Are/Our-Three-Expressions/Churchwide-Organization/Office-of-the-Secretary/ELCA-Governance/Churchwide-Assembly/Schedule/Prayer.aspx

You may also pick up an information sheet regarding making prayer shawls to be used by participants at the assembly.

National Youth Gathering Offering Opportunity

Jesus Justice JazzLutheran youth, their family and members of their congregations and synods have historically been very generous! They come to the Youth Gathering arms full of gifts to contribute to the in-kind offering, items like cans of food, children’s books, or gift cards. The 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering’s focus on service and recovery in New Orleans makes it necessary to gather gifts earlier so that they can be in New Orleans BEFORE youth arrive.

This on-line giving opportunity allows us to purchase the items the youth will use during their service experiences in New Orleans. The best part is that the items will remain in New Orleans when our ELCA youth leave.  Here is the link for those wishing to donate:

Good News! Lutheridge has received a generous grant to help kids come to camp even in these tough economic times... bad news ~ Summer enrollment is still down at both Lutheridge and Lutherock!

Do you know of any kids in first through twelfth grade who would like to go to camp?  Then make sure their parents know that there is scholarship money that can ONLY be used to help kids come to camp! We don't want there to be giving it back at the end of the summer!

There are all kinds of camp weeks to choose from for all ages – whitewater week, rock climbing & tower, adventure camping, drama camp, music week, etc.  There is something for every interest.

Greetings, Holy Trinity Members and Friends,

Worship for the Week of July 18/19.  The Liturgical Color is green.

Mark's gospel makes clear how great was the press of the crowd, with its countless needs to be met, on Jesus and his disciples. Yet in today's gospel Jesus advises his disciples to get away and rest, to take care of themselves. Sometimes we think that when others are in great need we shouldn't think of ourselves at all; but Jesus also honors the caregivers' need. We are sent from Christ's table to care for others and for ourselves.

Saturday Worship is at 5:30 PM.   Chas Childers is the visiting worship leader with the Voices of Faith members leading worship.  Music includes:  Forever; Open the Eyes of My Heart, Lord; Above All; Give Thanks; Surely the Presence; Blessed be Your Name.  Coffee Fellowship is hosted by Coffee Fellowship Coordinators.

Sunday Worship at 10:00 am ONLY    7th Sunday after Pentecost – A Southern Gospel Music Service with “BlueGrace” returning as our guest musicians.   Music includes:  Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing; To God be the Glory; My Shepherd Will Supply My Need; I’m Ready; Just a Closer Walk With Thee; Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us; Blessed Assurance.   Coffee Fellowship is hosted by Coffee Fellowship Coordinator.
