From the Pastor: This weekend, we near the end of the Easter season. As you may have noticed, our Easter lessons turn from the reality of the resurrection to the question of how people of faith live in the power of resurrection life each day. Jesus promises not to leave his followers as orphans. He also promises that the Holy Spirit will come to guide them in their faith.
As people of faith, we celebrate the power of that Spirit as it animates our lives each day. As you prepare for worship this Sunday, ask yourself how the Spirit has worked in your life. God is truly blessing Holy Trinity in many ways. Pray that the Spirit will guide the congregation into a bright future of service and faithfulness.

Member news to pass along: Long-time member, Dorothy Graham, passed away on Tuesday, May 16. A private service will be held on May 19th at the funeral home. Please keep her family in your prayers.

Foreign Language readers needed during the Sunday, June 4th, 10AM service. If you'd be willing to read 6 verses within a group, please speak with Tim Young.
We are seeking volunteers to run our AV booth. Both women and men are invited and full training will be provided. Volunteers are typically scheduled about every 6 weeks when we have a full team. Rotation will begin as soon as you’re trained and available. Speak with Tim Young or the church office to volunteer. Thank you!!
YOUTH NEWS
High school graduates will be joining us for a special blessing at the 8:30am worship service on May 21.
The Youth End of Year Celebration is Sunday, May 21st, 5-7PM in the back field. Water games, paintball balloon wars, celebration of our grads, pizza, cake and more! All youth invited. See you there!
1000 Sandwiches for MUST Summer Lunch – May 31
Please stop by the Ministry Station to sign up to bring donations and/or to help put the lunches together.
Items still needed: bread, fruit cups, drink boxes & chips, plus large coolers (lend, not donate) and shallow boxes for transporting lunches
When you sign up, please take a Thrivent T-shirt to wear when you come to help make sandwiches and pack lunch bags. Thrivent pays for the ham, so we’ll send them a “Thank You” picture of our Thrivent Action Team making a difference in our community.
W-ELCA Annual Women’s Scholarship
Holy Trinity’s Women of the ELCA organization will again offer a $1000.00 educational scholarship. It is the intent of this organization to encourage women of all ages to expand their current talents as a Christian and perhaps carry those and newly learned talents into an area that will enable her to help others know God too. Please review the application for all requirements and details. The application will be available on Holy Trinity’s website soon, and attached to this Weekly Email. Hard copies are currently posted on the W-ELCA bulletin board, near the church office door. The deadline for receipt of the applications is Sunday, July 30, 2017.
There are still several dates available in the flower book for 2017 dedications. Please check the book on the wooden table in the fellowship hall to choose a date to donate flowers for the sanctuary.
WORSHIP COORDINATORS NEEDED
We are in immediate need of worship coordinators for the 11 a.m. service on Sunday mornings. This person needs to be in the sacristy area around 30 minutes prior to the service to be sure all of the worship servants for the service arrive and are robed and prepared for the service. Once everyone is in place, the worship coordinator is done for that Sunday. If we have several worship coordinators, we can alternate months which makes it easier for all. We could also use additional 8:30 worship coordinators so they can alternate also. Please consider if this would be an easy way for you to serve here at Holy Trinity.

Collections: Youth collect aluminum cans. Please place rinsed cans in Aluminum bin in the parking lot but please put the tabs in the Ronald McDonald collection in the library. Eyeglasses and hearing aids, white socks, bars of soap, and food of the month are collected in marked bins in the fellowship hall.
