Subject: [Parish News] Selection of New Parish Council
To: <holyfa...@googlegroups.com>

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ Jesus,

It is time to select the new parish council members for the years 2024-2026. I take this opportunity to express our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to our trustees and parish councilors for their dedicated service to our parish over the past two years. May God bless them and their families for their selfless ministry to the community. As per the directives from our Diocese, we will be forming a new parish council starting in February 2024. We have been instructed to complete the selection process in the month of December to ensure that we can submit the list of selected councilors to the diocese for approval by or before December 15, 2023.

Based on our past general body decision, parish members with partial payments towards the building fund are now eligible to self-nominate for leadership positions. The criteria for candidates with partial payments have been established by the current Parish Council as follows:

·   Parishioners who have been registered for at least 3 years are required to make a minimum payment of 30% of the building fund.

·   Those who have been registered for a minimum of 5 years should contribute at least 60%.

·   Parishioners with 7 years or more of registration are expected to make the full payment

Given our busy schedule in December with Christmas Caroling, and the requirement to have the list of selected members reach the diocese for approval by December 15, 2023, we have decided to conduct the selection of parish council members during the ward prayer meetings as outlined below.

·   Blessed Kunjachan Ward December 9th

·   St Alphonsa Ward on November 11th

·   St Mariam Thresia Ward on November 18th

·   St Thomas Ward on November 25th

Here are the procedures to follow for the selection process:

·   As per the Diocesan directives, each of you must self-nominate for parish council membership. To make the process smoother and to avoid any confusion, we have attached a self-nomination form to this email, which outlines the eligibility criteria.

·   Those who wish to become parish councilors may fill out the self-nomination form and submit it to Fr. Vicar by November 7th (Tuesday).

·   The submitted nominations will be verified, and once approved, the names will be conveyed to the ward members in their respective ward meetings.

·   From the approved list of names, we will select one male and one female member from each ward, who will also serve as coordinators for their respective wards.

Please take this opportunity to reflect on your willingness to serve and contribute to the betterment of our parish. We encourage active participation and self-nomination for the upcoming parish council. Your involvement is essential for the growth and vitality of our Parish Community. May God guide and bless our parish as we move forward with the selection of our new parish council members.

May God Bless You
