I'm writing for a couple of reasons.
First, I want to find out how the garden has been going. My own church
launched one in April, and we're starting to get cukes and zukes out
of it, with tomatoes looming. Apparently there are nine churches in
Sacto with gardens now.
Also, I wonder if there have been any other developments along the
lines of our discussions from my last visit. In particular, I recall
some discussion of a clothing operation, possibly in conjunction with
Mennonite craftspeople. Please let me know if anything of that sort
has been moving. I have a friend from church who is interested in
recovering old "home-ec" skills and local economies, and is looking
for information for a paper she's writing.
Also, I should mention that there will be a co-op conference in San
Francisco Aug 15-16: http://www.cccd.coop/events/ccc
Take care, and God bless y'all.
Andrew
