Dear Friends,

I am really thankful to all of you who showed their support and encouragement towards Save Vivekananda Hyde Park, Properties. http://www.vivekanandahydeparkchicago.org/ Now I feel I am blessed to be born in the family of Balaram Basu.  When to keep the request of some young lad he brought a new vessel and helped them to remove the relics of Bhagvan Sri Ramakrishna and take it back to his own house to do Nitya Puja ( worshiping it daily) as  the living God, he never doubted  his movement he knew it was the desire of God.  Today without his action it would have been  impossible for Swami Vivekananda to keep Sri Sri Thakur's request--   "Naren tui amake kandhe kore jekhane niye giye bosabi ami sekhanei thakbo( Where ever you will take me on your shoulder  I will stay there).  

Today when we are celebrating 150th Birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda instead to taking away some dear belongings from him we should try to give it back to him.

With the blessings of Vice President and General Secretary Maharaj I am confident that we are not on a wrong path.

We must join wholeheartedly with this noteworthy endeavour.

 

This building is currently with The Vivekananda Vedanta Society of Chicago. As of now, the Society faces an impending mortgage payment of a very large amount (about US$ 3 million) which if remain unpaid, shall lead to the tragic loss of a memorial to the man who shook America with his ground-breaking address to the crowd: “Sisters and Brothers of America …”. 

Revered Swami Ishatmananda Ji Maharaj is designated to take over the charge of The Vivekananda Vedanta Society of Chicago pending visa formalities. Currently Revered Maharaj is staying at Advaita Ashrama, 5-Dehi Entally Road, Kolkata-700014, India. It is our earnest appeal to all of you to come forward and contribute generously for this noble cause so that this monumental tribute to Swami Vivekananda can be saved and shall remain with the Society by paying off the debt.
