Unity in Diversity – The Many Faces of Faith - 01

 

The topic under consideration consists of two important words: “Unity” and “Faith.” What is “faith”? One dictionary meaning is: “The assent of the mind or understanding to the truth of what God has revealed.” An eminent Sufi observes: “Faith is the belief of the heart in that knowledge which comes from the Unseen.” The Unseen is the Ultimate Reality, the Supreme Godhead. Faith becomes plural when the knowledge coming from the Unseen Reality or the revelation from God is expressed in different languages and applied in day-to-day life by different people, in different circumstances, at different times of human history.
