One young man came to join the monastery in Belur Math when Swamiji was there. He asked the man about his particulars and he found that the man did not have anything worthwhile. Swamiji said ‘have something to renounce, and then come. So we should have the buddhi, the Shakti, everything and then place it at the feet of the Lord like Arjuna. The whole army was standing there waiting for Arjuna’s arrow to go. Think how important a man Arjuna was. He was the first man to start the war and he surrendered himself at the feet of Sri Krishna. First build your personality and then surrender.
