The intellect is illumined by the power, the brilliance of the Atman.  The intellect never makes a mistake. When we do anything wrong, something from within us tells us ‘don’t do that, don’t do that.’ We don’t listen and we go ahead. Later, when things go wrong, what we call conscience, says ‘I told you so. I told you not to do that.’ This is the pricking of the conscience.
