Religion and Suffering – 02

 

When a little child is sick, the mother sits up the whole night nursing the baby rather than give it to the care of another person. If she has had to give the child to the care of another person because she is not well or for some other reason then she would feel sad and guilty. But if she is able to sit up and nurse the baby to her hearts content then it gives her great satisfaction. There is no suffering.  So suffering is not from the outside, actually from it is from inside. So suffering is in the attitude that we adopt towards the things happening outside.
