Power of the Name – 25
In every religion japa is very important. There is a beautiful book “The way of a Pilgrim” which is prescribed for us in the Ramakrishna Order. During our training we had to read that. The whole book is about Japa – the Jesus prayer. A Russian Pilgrim, whose name is not given anywhere in the whole book, is telling his story in a first person narrative. One day the Pilgrim heard in the church, “Pray without ceasing”. He tried every means to do that, but he could not understand the main significance. Later he lost his house, his family, also the use of his one arm due to some injury. So he decided to become a pilgrim - looking for a way to get consolation and peace.
