I don’t know if this happens in other parts of Kerala but something strange and novel in my eyes happened in Trivandrum one day. A young man, a devotee came to the Centre. I was standing in the porch. The devotee said, ‘Mataji, I can’t come inside and do pranaam to you today.’ I said, ‘Why, what’s happening?’ He replied, ‘I have just been to a house where somebody died. The funeral is over but I am polluted, I can’t come inside the house.’ I said, ‘How is that somebody died in the house and how did you become polluted?’ He said that everybody who went to that house is polluted. That set me thinking.
