" If a man worships me," says Sri Krishna in the Gita," and meditates upon me with an undistracted mind, devoting every moment to me, I shall supply all his needs". Latu Maharaj surrendered himself to Sri Ramakrishna wholeheartedly . After the Master's passing away, he went through various kinds of sadhanas; he explained," It is he who is taking me by the hand through all these disciplines"
Once Girish Chandra Ghosh remarked to a devotee," If you want to see a monk such as the Gita describes, go and see Latu Maharaj." The devotee did not know what Girish meant. Girish said: " I see you have not read the second chapter of the Gita. The nature of a man of stedy wisdom is described there. You can see all those qualities exemplified in Latu's character." To quote from the Gita: " When a man completely casts off all the desires of the mind, his Self finding satisfaction in Itself alone, then he is called a man of steady wisdom. He who is not perturbed by adversity, who does not long for happiness, who is free from attachment, fear, and wrath, is called a man of steady wisdom."
