You and I young people
What we can learn from the Older generation – 15
About ten or fifteen years later when Sankaracharya visited Cochin again the King went to see him. The King said, “Swami, I have a request. You may not remember because you were a young boy. I had composed a long poem in Sanskrit and requested you to go through it and correct it but now I have lost it. I am very sad.” Then Sankara said, “Call your scribe, I shall dictate and he can write it down.” Sankaracharya then recited the whole thing. He had memorised it in one glance and he remembered it after all these years! The King got back his composition, his own work through Sankaracharya. That’s the old man in the young boy!
