Power of the Name – 26
In one village, he met an old man on the street - who seemed to be a monk. The monk asked him who he was and where he was going. He replied that he had no particular destination. He was seeking the way to think of God while praying without ceasing. He confessed that he did not know what prayer he should utter. The monk who was from a nearby monastery, took the man to the monastery. He gave him food and shelter and made him stay there for some time. He taught him this Jesus prayer – ‘Oh Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me’ and said, “Use this mantram and repeat it as many times as possible.” That simple young man began to do it with tremendous, unshakable faith. Then a time came when without his thinking about it, his heart was repeating it. He could hear his heart doing it with every heartbeat! With every heartbeat, he could feel he was repeating that prayer!
