The dacoit couple later became devotees. So somebody asked the dacoit, “What did you feel? Why did you not hurt her? Why did you feel love towards her?” “Oh, No, when I came near I did not see an ordinary young woman. I saw my Mother Kali with a benign smile. What else could I do! I had to protect her, to look after her, so I asked my wife to help. We kept awake the whole night, looked after her and the following morning after giving her breakfast we took her to the end of the forest.”
Holy Mother became Abhaya, fearless. Bhayam or fear is in us. It appears on the outside according to how we see the world. Practise Abhaya and the world will be benign and full of love.
