Power of the Name – 27
Al Ghazali, the great Muslim theologian says, “Let the seeker sit alone in some corner, let him see to it that nothing save God, the most high, enters into his mind. Then, as he sits alone in solitude, let him not cease saying continuously with his tongue ‘Allah Allah’. At last, he will reach a state where the motion of the tongue will stop. Let him persevere in this. Ultimately all trace of motion is removed from his tongue and he sees his heart persevering in the thought. But let him still persevere till the form of the word, it's letter and shape are removed. Then there remains the idea alone as though clinging to his heart - the idea of God. Nothing now remains but to await what God will open to him, till the time for realization to come. If he follows the above course, he may be sure that the light of the Real will shine in his heart.”
