In sannyasa ceremony the guru’s presence is inevitable. Sannyasa is given to the disciple by the guru. I was told that there are gurus who give sannyasa over the phone from Sydney to a person in New Zealand. It was in the newspapers. Unfortunately these gurus who crave for name and fame cheat the people who sincerely go to them. Good and bad exist everywhere.
