I saw the origin of river Kaveri in the Western Ghats. It starts as a small fountain from the side of the mountain and then falls into a small tank, fills it up and overflows. Then there is an area surrounded on three sides by cliffs. The first water that comes from the mountain is used in the Shiva temple there. The water that overflows and collects in the big tank, can be used by all for drinking, bathing etc.
